METBooker · Legal
Terms &
Conditions
These terms apply to everyone who visits metbooker.com and to anyone who uses the METBooker booking platform — whether as a business taking bookings, a member of staff using the admin tools, or an end customer making a booking. By using the site or the platform, you agree to these terms.
The short version
- METBooker owns the platform, the code and the brand. Using the service doesn’t transfer any of that to you.
- You get a limited licence to use the platform for its intended purpose — taking bookings or making one.
- Don’t copy or misuse our protected materials, scrape without permission, resell access, attack the system, or use your access to develop a competing service. Legal rights that cannot be excluded still apply.
- You’re responsible for keeping your login secure.
- The service is provided “as-is” — we work hard but can’t guarantee zero downtime.
- We’re a technology platform only — we don’t hold funds, and we’re not a bookkeeping or tax advisory service.
- Our liability to visitors and end users is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in the previous 12 months; business customers are covered instead by the SaaS Subscription Agreement & SLA.
- Free trials may be withdrawn on seven days' written notice. We may suspend access promptly to investigate reasonably suspected misuse or protect the service, while providing an appropriate data-return route.
Who these terms apply to
In short Anyone using metbooker.com or the booking platform is bound by these terms.
These Terms & Conditions form a legal agreement between you and METBooker (“we”, “us”, “our”). They cover three groups of users:
- Visitors — anyone browsing the public website at metbooker.com.
- Business customers — businesses, landlords or operators who sign up to use the platform to take bookings (the “Customer”).
- End users — the customers, tenants and guests who make a booking through a business that uses METBooker.
If you are a business customer, our SaaS Subscription Agreement & SLA, the Data Processing Agreement and any signed order form also apply. Where there is a conflict, the order form takes precedence, followed by the SaaS Subscription Agreement & SLA, then the DPA, then these terms. In particular, where you are a business customer under the SaaS Subscription Agreement & SLA, the liability terms set out in that agreement apply to you in place of section 10 below.
Intellectual property
In short We own the platform. You don’t get any rights to it beyond using it normally.
All right, title and interest in and to the METBooker platform — including the source code, database structures, APIs, user interface, layouts, graphics, logos, names, original copy, documentation and all related materials — are owned by METBooker or our licensors and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of that to you. Using the website or paying for a subscription does not grant you any IP rights beyond the limited licence set out in section 3.
“METBooker” and our logo are trademarks of METBooker. You may not use them without our prior written permission, except to factually identify the service you are using.
Limited licence to use
In short You can use the platform for what it’s built for. Nothing more.
Subject to your continued compliance with these terms, METBooker grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the platform for its intended purpose:
- Browsing the public website;
- Making, managing or cancelling a booking, where you are an end user;
- Operating your account and taking bookings, where you are a business customer.
This licence lasts for as long as your account is active and these terms are in force. We may revoke it at any time if you breach these terms (see section 11).
Free trials
A free trial allows you to evaluate METBooker for use in your own business. We will confirm the trial period and any feature limits when we enable it. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, we may end a free trial early on at least seven days' written notice. We may decline a request for a new trial or an extension.
The immediate suspension and termination provisions in section 11 apply during a trial. A trial does not create an entitlement to a paid subscription. It will not become a paid subscription unless you separately agree to the subscription and payment terms.
If you use a trial for real bookings or payments, you remain responsible for those bookings and for your customers. Trial expiry or withdrawal does not cancel bookings, reverse payments or remove your data-protection responsibilities. Section 11 explains how existing records and data exports are handled when access ends.
Restrictions on use
In short Use METBooker for your business. Do not copy or misuse our protected materials, extract information without permission, or use access granted to you to develop a competing service. Legal rights that cannot be excluded still apply.
Subject to the legal exceptions below, you must not, and must not permit anyone else to:
- Copy or reverse engineer: reproduce protected platform code, original wording, graphics or documentation, or decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive source code or underlying algorithms, except as necessary for authorised use or with our written permission;
- Use access to develop a competing service: use your account, trial access, non-public documentation or support information, or materials obtained through that access to develop, commission or assist the development of a competing product or service;
- Extract information without permission: scrape, crawl, harvest or otherwise systematically extract platform materials or data, except through facilities we provide for that purpose, including authorised APIs and exports of your own account data;
- Resell or sublicense access: rent, lease, sell, sublicense or otherwise commercially exploit access to the platform without our written consent;
- Bypass technical limits: circumvent or interfere with security, authentication, access controls or rate limits;
- Misrepresent ownership: pass off the platform or its protected materials as your own, or remove proprietary notices. Agreed white-label features remain permitted.
These restrictions apply to trial and paid accounts. They do not transfer ownership of your business content or customer data to us, prevent you from exporting or reusing your own data, or prevent you from independently developing software without misusing our protected materials or confidential information.
Nothing in these terms restricts an act that applicable law permits and that cannot lawfully be restricted by contract. This includes applicable rights to observe, study or test a computer program, make necessary backup copies, or decompile for interoperability within the statutory conditions.
User conduct & prohibited activities
In short Use the platform safely and lawfully. Don’t attack it.
Reasonable use
- Making, managing and viewing your own bookings.
- Communicating with the business you’ve booked with via the platform.
- Reporting bugs, vulnerabilities or abuse to security@metbooker.com.
Activities we ban
- Uploading malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware or any “logic bomb” code.
- Launching denial-of-service or other attacks against our hosts or networks.
- Probing, scanning or testing security without our written authorisation.
- Using the platform for fraud, money laundering, illegal bookings or any unlawful activity.
- Impersonating another person, business or staff member.
- Submitting false, misleading or harassing content via the platform.
We may report suspected criminal activity to the relevant authorities and cooperate with their investigations.
Account security
In short Keep your login safe. We can’t help if it’s shared.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for any activity that takes place under your account. You must:
- Use a strong, unique password and, where offered, enable two-factor authentication;
- Not share your password or let anyone else use your account;
- Notify us at security@metbooker.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
METBooker is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your account secure, or from unauthorised access caused by compromised credentials.
Service availability & “as-is” disclaimer
In short We aim for high uptime, but we can’t promise perfection.
The platform is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, METBooker disclaims all warranties — express, implied, statutory or otherwise — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted operation.
We do not warrant that:
- The platform will be available 100% of the time or free from interruption;
- The platform will meet any specific requirement you may have;
- The platform will be free from bugs, errors or vulnerabilities;
- Any data or output will be wholly accurate or reliable.
We may carry out scheduled maintenance, emergency fixes, deployments and upgrades that result in temporary unavailability. We will give reasonable notice of significant planned downtime where practical.
User-generated content
In short Your content stays yours. You give us permission to host and display it so the platform can work.
Where the platform allows you to upload content — including business details, descriptions, photos, logos, opening hours, pricing information, booking notes or correspondence — you keep ownership of that content.
You grant METBooker a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display and process that content solely for the purpose of operating, securing and improving the platform, and providing the service to you and the relevant end users. The licence ends when the content is deleted from the platform, except where retention is required by law or by our backup cycle.
You confirm that the content you upload:
- Is yours, or you have permission from the rights holder to use it;
- Does not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- Is not unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing or otherwise objectionable.
We may remove content that we reasonably believe breaches these terms.
Bookings, payments & refunds
In short Bookings are between you and the business. Payment goes via their chosen provider, not us. We don’t hold funds and we’re not a tax or bookkeeping service.
When an end user makes a booking through METBooker, the contract for the underlying service is between the end user and the business they book with. METBooker provides the technology that connects the two — we are not a party to that contract.
- Payments are processed by the business’s chosen payment provider. Supported providers include Stripe, Airwallex, Square, SumUp, Dodo Payments and Dojo. Each provider’s own terms apply to the payment itself. Your card details pass directly to the provider — METBooker never sees or stores them.
- Refund, cancellation, no-show and rescheduling rules are set by each business and shown at the point of booking.
- Disputes about a booking should be raised with the business first; we will assist where the platform can help (e.g. providing booking records or audit logs).
Subscription fees paid by business customers to METBooker are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in an order form.
Regulatory status
METBooker is a technology platform only. We do not hold, control or have access to Customer or end-user funds, and we are not a payment institution or authorised or registered under the Payment Services Regulations 2017. METBooker is not a bookkeeping, accounting or tax advisory service. Booking, payment and invoice records provided through the platform are for the business customer’s own record-keeping and do not constitute tax, accounting or Making Tax Digital compliance advice. Business customers remain solely responsible for the accuracy of VAT and other tax information used to generate invoices and receipts, and for their own regulatory and tax compliance.
Invoices & receipts
Where the platform generates invoices or receipts on a business customer’s behalf, these are produced using information the business customer has provided or configured (including VAT registration status and rate). METBooker does not verify that information, and business customers should check that invoices and receipts meet their own legal requirements before relying on them.
Chargebacks & payment disputes
Chargebacks, payment disputes and refund claims are handled between the business customer and their chosen Payment Provider, under that provider’s own terms. METBooker is not liable for any chargeback fees, reversed funds or losses arising from a payment dispute.
Limitation of liability
In short If something goes wrong, our liability to visitors and end users is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. Business customers are covered instead by the SaaS Subscription Agreement & SLA.
This section applies to visitors and end users. If you are a business customer under our SaaS Subscription Agreement & SLA, the liability terms in that agreement apply to you instead of this section.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory rights of consumers that cannot be waived.
Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- No indirect or consequential loss — METBooker will not be liable for any loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data or any indirect or consequential loss.
- Liability cap — METBooker’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the platform, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
You agree that this cap is a fair and reasonable allocation of risk given the nature of the platform and the fees charged.
Suspension, trial withdrawal and termination
In short We may suspend access promptly where there are reasonable grounds to investigate misuse or protect the service. Routine early withdrawal of a free trial requires seven days' written notice. Your records and data rights are handled separately from access to the application.
Immediate suspension
We may temporarily suspend all or part of your access, including trial access, where we have reasonable grounds to suspect a material breach of these terms, including misuse under section 4, fraudulent, illegal or abusive activity, or a material risk to the platform, other customers or end users. We may also suspend access where required by law or a competent authority.
We will limit suspension to what is reasonably necessary, review it promptly and keep it under review. Unless prohibited by law or reasonably likely to prejudice security or an investigation, we will notify your registered business contact of the reason, the scope of the restriction and how to contact us. A temporary suspension is not itself a finding that wrongdoing has occurred.
Review and termination
You may provide information or challenge a suspension by emailing legal@metbooker.com. Where a material breach can reasonably be remedied, we will ordinarily give written notice describing it and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it. We may terminate access immediately for a material breach that cannot reasonably be remedied, an unremedied material breach after that opportunity, where continued access presents a material risk that cannot reasonably be managed through a narrower restriction, or where law or a competent authority requires it.
Where the grounds for suspension no longer apply and the account has not otherwise expired or been lawfully terminated, we will restore the affected access. Routine early withdrawal of a free trial is governed by section 3. Routine cancellation of a paid subscription is governed by the SaaS Subscription Agreement and any applicable order form.
Existing bookings and payments
Suspension, trial expiry, withdrawal or termination does not itself cancel an existing booking, refund or reverse a payment, or release the business from its obligations to its customers. The business remains responsible for fulfilment, customer communications and any refunds or payment disputes through its connected payment provider.
When restricting access, we will consider whether new bookings and payment initiation must also be paused to avoid accepting bookings that cannot reasonably be managed. We will explain the effect of the restriction in our notice. If console access is unavailable, we will provide reasonable assistance with the existing booking records, including a secure export or an appropriate support route. This does not require us to restore unrestricted access or perform the underlying garage service.
Data and closure
Suspension alone does not delete your tenant or start the account-deletion process. We will handle account data, return or deletion instructions and closure notices under the Data Processing Agreement. Access to your data may be provided by secure export through support rather than continued access to the console. We will not withhold your account-data export solely because there is a dispute about platform use.
On termination, your licence to use the application ends, subject to any expressly agreed transition arrangements. Data return and other provisions intended to survive termination remain effective. Fees properly due and any refunds are governed by the applicable subscription agreement, order form and law. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Third-party links & services
In short We integrate with other services. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them.
The platform may contain links or integrations to third-party sites and services. These include, depending on configuration:
- Payment processors — Stripe, Airwallex, Square, SumUp, Dodo Payments and Dojo (whichever the business you’ve booked with has enabled);
- Calendar integrations — Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 (via Microsoft Graph), used for syncing bookings when the business has connected their account;
- Authentication — Google Sign-in, used for business admin accounts;
- Vehicle registration lookup — the UK DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service API, used when you enter a vehicle registration number during the booking flow. Your registration is sent to the DVLA API in real time to retrieve your vehicle details;
- Other third-party links — social media platforms or partner websites that may appear on business profile pages.
Those services are provided by their respective owners under their own terms and privacy notices. METBooker:
- Does not own, control or operate them;
- Is not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or practices;
- Does not endorse them simply because they appear on the platform.
Your use of those services is at your own risk and subject to their terms — please review them before use.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example to reflect changes in the service, in the law, or in our business operations. The latest version will always be available at metbooker.com/terms-conditions/ with an updated version number and effective date at the top of the page.
For material changes that affect your rights, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or via the platform. Continuing to use METBooker after the effective date means you accept the updated terms; if you don’t, you can stop using the service and (if you’re a business customer) close your account.
Governing law & contact
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that nothing prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any competent jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
Questions, complaints or notices under these terms should be sent to legal@metbooker.com.
